Happy Monday! I have finally got round to writing this blog post that I wanted to write and post since I wore this look recently. The main reason I wanted to share this outfit was because of the top I picked up in penneys for just €8. I loved the fact that it was so reasonable, on trend with the frill sleeves and even better was the fact that it's a stripe top which I think is perfect for this time of the year. Not only is the top on trend with the frill sleeves I also wanted to show you how you can buy into a trend without feeling you won't get the wear out of a trend driven item once the trend is no longer a trend. I wanted to show how you can still filter it through into your wardrobe as almost a key piece long after the trend and hype has gone so if you want to see what I mean keep scrolling!
My €8 top from penneys with the double frill detail...
I am also loving these star print white trainers I picked up in penneys a few weeks ago for only €10 honestly they are so comfy and go with so many outfits. If you follow me on instagram you will have seen me post them alot I'm hoping they come back in again so I can pick up another pair for the rest of the summer months.
I am more or less head to toe in penneys here bar my belt which I bought from Asos.
The belt as I said is Asos and I love the double western style buckles.
Monochrome....
I love this bag too which I picked up again from penneys a few months back...
My silver bracelets are from Wallis...
So with my outfit shown above as I said I wanted to show how you can filter a 'trend' into your wardrobe. My first choice was pairing the top with a white blazer which I'm sure most people have in their wardrobe. By pairing the frill top with the blazer it looks like any basic stripe top that again nearly everyone has in their wardrobe. I just paired it here with light denim jeans and my trusted white trainers. You could also swop the jeans for a denim skirt or shorts. Or to style it up pair it with some heels instead.
The next look was exactly how I wore it but this time I added a grey chunky knit which again would transition into your wardrobe for Autumn/winter long after the frill trend has been replaced with a newer trend. I kept the accessories the same to show you don't have to replace or spend crazy amounts to switch up a look - just by adding one or two items is all it takes like the the knit I added.
So there you have my little outfit ideas which I hope you found some way helpful. I must admit I've really enjoyed doing this post so thank you for reading.
One of my favourite summer shades is this colour 'Tan my hide' in gelish.
On this dark dreary Monday here's to nicer weather and my pretty back drop of a cherry blossom tree...
As always thanks for reading
