Hair-Skincare-Beauty

Sunday, 8 January 2017

Hi everyone I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year, here's to a happy and healthy 2017. My first post of 2017 I felt should include some beauty and hair products that are currently my go to products that I think some of you would also love too.

I'll start with the hair products so firstly are these two Kevin Murphy products. I bought these back in August and at the time I said I would review them once I had tried them for a few weeks/months.

After visiting my hairdresser for a routine colour and cut she mentioned that my hair was very dry and not just the ends but all over so thats when I decided to invest in good hair products. I looked up stockists as to where I could get these and saw that the Alan Keville salon in Cork stocked them. After speaking to a girl working there and telling her I wanted a shampoo that combated brassiness in blonde hair and an intense treatment for dry hair she recommended these two products.
The blonde Angel wash as I said is recommended for blonde hair to keep that awful brassiness at bay which is such a downside to having blonde hair. So I've been using this shampoo since about August on and off combined with the Repair me rinse which is a reconstructing strengthening conditioner for your hair and I must say I'm finding both quite good. The one downside to the shampoo as it is a purple almost watery consistency it can be messy so just be mindful of this. As for the conditioner it smells amazing and a little of both products goes along way I'm only just coming to the end of both products and I have them since August. I've since got a bottle of each again as these ones are nearly gone so I think that just shows I'm finding the products good. I know at about €26 each they are expensive for a shampoo and conditioner but even if you just wanted a good hair treatment the conditioner would be a nice treat. And again a little goes a long way you only need a tiny amount of each.

Next up is another hair product that I've been using on and off for years. It's from Schwarzkopf and its a leave in spray conditioner which I use after using the two products above once I towel dry my hair quickly first. I spray this about 4-5 times into my hair not too close to your hair, spray it at a distance as you don't want your hair to become sticky with the product. So as I said I spray this in after my shampoo and conditioner and then I wrap my hair in a towel for about 20-30 minutes(if I have the time) before blow drying and styling my hair. This product honestly smells amazing trust me on this I've yet to find a hair product that smells as nice. I get this in my local hair salon and its only about €12 and again it lasts ages. I have really thick hair too and find these products cut the styling time so this for me makes it worth the money as I hate styling my hair as its so time consuming!

My last hair product is a hair oil from the brand Ojon which I picked up ages ago from boots. I use this every so often as an overnight hair treatment which I wash out the next morning. You melt the product by rubbing it on your hands and it turns into an oil which can be rubbed into your hair. I will say this product is quite strong smelling and can be abit overpowering. This pot is currently now empty so I'm on the hunt for a new hair mask to try if anyone has any ones they swear by let me know! But between investing in a good shampoo and conditioner, a leave in conditioner, and an occasional hair mask it does help with styling your hair and reduces the time it takes.

Next up is a product I picked up about three weeks ago now and I absolutely love it. Its a face mask from Kiehl's. In a tongue twister its a Turmeric and cranberry seed energising radiance mask which claims to invigorate and brighten your skin's appearance. I saw this on one of Lydia Millen's vlogmas videos where she put this on and afterwards her skin looked glowing check out her video to see what I mean her skin was so clear and clean looking! Of course with me been a complete sucker for beauty products I spy online I had to try it. I picked mine up in Debenhams for €34 again not cheap but its fast becoming a favourite buy. I will admit I'm so bad to look after my skin and I have a very limited skincare routine which I hope to change this year and get more knowledgeable when it comes to skincare and my skin and how to look after it better as I age. For the new year I want to get my skin analysed by a skin expert and start using the right products for my skin, eat healthier and drink more water as of now I just don't look after my skin properly I would be the first to admit that. But I do love applying face masks their one of my favourite skincare products. I love this product because it doesn't sting my skin, it makes it feel tight like its actually working, and its kind of a grain texture which when you wash it off you feel like your exfoliating your skin aswell. I love using this after a day of make up as my skin feels so clean and fresh afterwards. I'm no beauty expert but I do love this product.

The last skincare product was another product I picked up last August and I've been using since. This is my second bottle of this moisturiser from Liz Earle. I got this as I suffer from oily skin and was looking for a product which helped this before applying my make up. I use this every morning after washing my face before applying my make up. Again this product lasts ages and smells lovely. It has helped alot with my oily skin I'm not saying it stops it but definitely has helped it along with the usual good setting powders, primers etc. I picked this up in boots.

Last up and my only beauty product is a lipstick that I was back using alot lately. It's a Mac lipstick called 'Modesty'. I was using this alot during the day even to work on most days as its such a easy shade to wear. I've swatched it above on my hand. I picked up mine from Brown Thomas.

So that's my round up of some products I've been using on a daily basis lately. I just want to say I bought all of these products none were sent to me and I've tried and tested them all. If you have any products you think I would love please let me know as I love trying or finding new ones.

Thanks for reading
